Abbey Healthcare was founded in 1999 and was the first pharmacy in Ireland to introduce a pouched dosage system, resulting in the most efficient and safe delivery of medication to its patients. Cara Pharmacy has recently installed a new management team, with a firm long-term commitment from its financial backers to continue to grow the business. Since the beginning of 2021, Cara Pharmacy has been led by Patrick McCormack. Patrick has a significant track record in the pharmacy and healthcare industries, having previously been CEO of the Sam McCauley Pharmacy Group for over 10 years. Patrick has over 30 years’ experience in the sector and businesses under his previous stewardship have won many awards and achieved significant success. Cara Pharmacy recently entered into a franchise agreement with Allcare (part of the Uniphar Group). This partnership will help Cara to continue to grow and provide a superior range of products and services to its customers going forward. Cara Pharmacy employs over 200 staff across 12 stores in Ireland, and has an immensely loyal and proud workforce. Our pharmacy team provide medication and clinical support to healthcare teams in long term and respite care. We equip healthcare teams with the tools, technology, and expertise to make medication management for residents safer and easier. Cara Pharmacy Group is one of Ireland’s leading providers of pharmacy services to care home operators. It currently provides services to over 3,000 residents across various care facilities, ranging from 20 to 300 residents in size.
